Serena si presenta da Samantha con un corvo. In realtà si tratta di Malcom, un suo spasimante che la vivace cugina ha così trasformato perché non le aveva confessato di essere sposato. La moglie di Malcom è ben decisa a punire la colpevole, ma scambia Samantha per Serena e la spedisce nella New Orleans di cento anni prima. Samantha viene accolta in casa di Rance Butler, tipico gentiluomo del sud, che si innamora a prima vista di lei. Grazie a un incantesimo di Serena, Darrin riesce a raggiungere Samantha.
