Gli Stephens sono invitati dai Tate per incontrare un cliente difficile, il Signor MacElroy. Tabatha viene affidata alla zia Clara, che è molto avvilita perché il suo fidanzato Ocky l'ha lasciata per mettersi con una strega più giovane. Durante la serata, mentre tenta di porre rimedio al suo ennesimo strafalcione, la zia provoca un corto circuito che toglie la corrente elettrica a tutta la costa orientale. Presa dal panico, la povera zia non sa a chi rivolgersi per chiedere aiuto e finisce per chiamare proprio il suo ex fidanzato Ocky. Lo stregone, per quanto un po' arrugginito, riesce a ripristinare la corrente dagli Stephens, che così è l'unica casa in dodici stati a essere illuminata…
