La histeria se apodera de los cientos de clientes que acuden a un evento en un hotel cuando un tiburón mata a una mujer en la piscina. Los miembros de C.S.I. acuden al lugar para descubrir cómo el escualo, un tiburón tigre, pudo llegar a la piscina. Los forenses deciden investigar primero a Earnest Boozell, propietario del inmueble, que mantiene una fuerte rivalidad con Danny Macklin, dueño de otro casino. Langston y el doctor Robbins observan un extraño color en el cuerpo de la víctima que indica que la mujer falleció antes de ser atacada por el tiburón. Langston, por su parte, examina el tiburón junto a un veterinario para recabar nuevos datos que le permitan esclarecer el caso.
